Exposure of 6PPD significantly increased the concentration of GABA in zebrafish brain. (P<0.05)
JW Ji et al investigate the eco-toxicity of 6PPD and its neurotoxicity. Concentration of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) of zebrafish brain was determined using GABA colorimetric assay kit (E-BC-K852-M).
It is recommended to take 2~3 samples with expected large difference to do pre-experiment before formal experiment and dilute the sample according to the result of the pre-experiment and the detection range (0.06–10.0 μmol/mL).
The recommended dilution factor for different samples is as follows (for reference only):
Sample type |
Dilution factor |
10% Epipremnum aureum tissue homogenization |
1 |
10% Green pepper tissue homogenization |
1 |
10% Chinese yam tissue homogenization |
1 |
10% Rat heart tissue homogenization |
1 |
10% Rat liver tissue homogenization |
1 |
10% Rat kidney tissue homogenization |

Note: The diluent is reagent 1.

Answered: Hi Oguntunde, Thanks for your inquiry. E-BC-K852-M can detect plant samples. Our laboratory has verified that taro, potatoes, yams and other plant samples can be detected, but it has not verified medicinal plants. It is recommended that you buy a small-size kit to do a pre-test.

Answered: Hello Brian. Thanks for your message. Sorry, we haven't tested it with the sample, and it is recommended to do a pre-test. Theoretically it can be detected if the GABA content in the sample is above the sensitivity of the kit.
