Plasma UA shows no significant differences with different diets (P<0.05).
N A M Omar et al investigate the effect of high intakes of fructose and galactose, with or without added fructooligosaccharides (FOS), on metabolism factors, inflammation, and gut integrity markers in rats. Uric acid level in rat plasma was determined using UA colorimetric assay kit (E-BC-K016-S).
It is recommended to take 2~3 samples with expected large difference to do pre-experiment before formal experiment and dilute the sample according to the result of the pre-experiment and the detection range (0.58-100 mg/L).
The recommended dilution factor for different samples is as follows (for reference only):
Sample type |
Dilution factor |
Human urine |
8-10 |
Human serum |
1 |
Dog serum |
1 |
Rat serum |
1 |
Mouse serum |
1-2 |
Porcine serum |
1 |
Note: The diluent is normal saline (0.9% NaCl) or PBS (0.01 M, pH 7.4).
