| Detection Principle |
"Cyclooxygenase (COX) is a bifunctional enzyme that possesses both cyclooxygenase and peroxidase activities. The cyclooxygenase activity of COX catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid (AA) to prostaglandin G2 (PGG2), while its peroxidase activity further converts PGG2 to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2). Principle of this kit: Arachidonic acid is converted to prostaglandin G2 by cyclooxygenase, and in the presence of a cofactor, the peroxidase activity of COX is activated. Upon addition of an inhibitor, the fluorescence generation is suppressed, and the inhibitory effect can be determined based on the degree of suppression. The fluorescence generated by this kit has a maximum excitation wavelength of 535 nm and a maximum emission wavelength of 587 nm." |
