Detection Principle MAO can catalysis 4-dimethylambenzylamine to produce p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde. p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde has a characteristic absorption peak at 355 nm. The activity of MAO can be calculated indirectly by analyzing the production of p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde.
