Cell Metabolism FAQs

In order to provide better customer support ,Elabscience have compiled and published the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about cell metabolism assay kit, and will continue to update

  • The metabolism kit generally does not recommend treating samples with lysis buffer. Since the principle of the kit is based on chemical reactions, and the components in the lysis buffer are relatively complex, there may be components that interfere with the reactions of the kit. Therefore, it is not recommended to use lysis buffer to treat samples. If you really want to use it, it is recommended to select several samples for a preliminary experiment first. Confirm that there is no impact after that before conducting the formal experiment to avoid waste of samples and reagents.
  • Each kit has specified applicable instruments. It is recommended to follow the operation steps in the manual for operation, and do not change the detection instrument at will.
  • The manual specifies the required detection wavelength range. As long as it is within the required detection wavelength range, it can be detected. If it is not within the detection range required by the kit, the measured value will have a certain deviation, and it is not recommended to use.
  • The evaluation of oxidative stress is mainly carried out from three dimensions: reactive oxygen species level, antioxidant defense capacity, and oxidative damage products. It is suggested that the following representative indicators can be selected to support the experiment: Reactive oxygen species level: ROS Antioxidant defense indicators: T-SOD, GSH-Px, GSH/GSSG, total antioxidant capacity; Oxidative damage products: MDA, LPO.
  • Tissue homogenate is usually recommended for use on the same day. Some special indicators may need to be used within 4 hours. Freezing is not recommended.
