Test Principle
This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human IgA1. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human IgA1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human IgA1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human IgA1. You can calculate the concentration of Human IgA1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
Background
Human IgA1 protein is a glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in the immune system. It is a type of immunoglobulin that functions as an antibody, providing protection against pathogens and foreign substances. Human IgA1 protein has multiple characteristics and functions, including stimulating hepatocyte growth, acting as an electrode for cellular signaling, and interacting with androgens, collagens, inhibitors, monoclonal antibodies, and other binding proteins. This protein is involved in various immune responses by neutralizing pathogens, activating complement systems, and promoting cytotoxic activities. Additionally, human IgA1 protein can modulate the production of growth factors like interferons and chemokines. Overall, human IgA1 protein is an essential component of the immune system that contributes to maintaining overall health and protecting the body from infections and diseases. Its multifunctional properties make it a valuable asset in biomedical research and therapeutic applications.
