The activity of CAT increased significantly after treated with melatonin in 5 μM of cadmium. (*P<0.05)
D Bartolini et al investigate the mechanism of melatonin protecting porcine pre-pubertal Sertoli cell from cadmium through regulating Nrf2 acivity. Catalase (CAT) activity of porcine pre-pubertal Sertoli cell was determined using CAT activity assay kit (E-BC-K031-M).
It is recommended to take 2~3 samples with expected large difference to do pre-experiment before formal experiment and dilute the sample according to the result of the pre-experiment and the detection range (1.12 -150 U/mL).
The recommended dilution factor for different samples is as follows (for reference only):
Sample type |
Dilution factor |
Human serum |
1 |
293T supernatant |

10% Rat heart tissue homogenization |
50-100 |
10% Rat liver tissue homogenization |
100-200 |
10% Rat spleen tissue homogenization |

10% Rat lung tissue homogenization |
50-100 |
10% Rat kidney tissue homogenization |
50-100 |

Answered: The standard curve will vary according to the different experimental operations and different experimental environments. So, we suggest the customer making the standard curve by yourself.

Asked: What does the control mean? Is it means the control group in my own experimental design?
Reply
adminSubmitted [ Aug 02 2022 ]
Answered: This control refers to the control of each sample, not for the control group of experimental design. Every sample must set a control.
